General

This privacy policy governs the way Home Invest Belgium collects, uses, maintains and discloses Personal Data.

This privacy policy applies to all websites owned by Home Invest Belgium and/or companies that Home Invest Belgium controls, directly or indirectly and all products and services offered by Home Invest Belgium. For tenants, a separate privacy policy exists, detailing how Personal Data from tenants is being processed.

Collection of Personal Data

In this notice “Personal Data” means information which relates to an individual and which identifies or can identify that individual, either directly or indirectly.

We may collect Personal Data from you directly when you provide us with personal information, e.g. when you register on our website, sign up to receive information, fill out a survey or make a comment or enquiry or engage into a contract with us. The types of information we may collect from you directly include your name, address, email address, username, telephone number, age, date of birth, gender, language, user-generated content, messages/inquiries/feedback, financial/payment information, and any other personal information you voluntarily provide to us.

We (and third-party service providers acting on our behalf) may use cookies and other tools (e.g. pixel tags) to automatically collect information about you when you use Home Invest Belgium websites. Generally, you can visit our website without providing any Personal Data about yourself.

By communicating Personal Data to Home Invest Belgium you acknowledge to understand that Home Invest Belgium will process and use your personal data for the purposes set out below.

Sensitive Personal Data

As a rule, Home Invest Belgium does not collect sensitive personal data through its website, meaning Personal Data concerning racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, data, health or sex life. By volunteering unsolicited sensitive Personal Data to us you expressly consent to your Personal Data being used as described in this notice.

Uses made of your information

We may collect and use Personal Data for the following purposes:

• To provide you with the information and services that you request from us (legal basis: legitimate interest);
• To send periodic mails: we may use the email address you provided to send you information and updates pertaining to your order. If you decide to opt- in to our mailing list, you will receive emails that may include information about our company, updates, related products, service information, etc. If at any time, you would like to opt-out from receiving future emails, you can always contact us via our website (legal basis: consent);

If we are going to use Personal Data in a manner different from the reasons set out above, we will notify you.

Disclosure of Personal Data

We may share your Personal Data with third parties. We use third party service providers (IT and hosting) to help us operate our business and the website or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We also share Personal Data with legal and financial advisors, as well as other entities of our group. We will share Personal Data for compliance with our legal or statutory obligations (e.g. the prevention of fraud) and will transfer Personal Data in case of a transfer of our business activities.

-         The transfer of your personal data that you provided to us, either by providing it to you in a readable form or its direct transmission by us to the third-party service provider designated by you.

-         The withdrawal of a previously given consent to process your personal data.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers.  Where we have given you a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Our website may contain links to other websites. Home Invest Belgium is not responsible nor liable for the privacy policy of these websites. You should be aware that the owners of such third-party websites might collect, use or transfer Personal Data under different terms and conditions than Home Invest Belgium.
